What does your P&C do?
The P&C is about people – just like you –parents, carers and community minded people who want to help their school. The P&C works closely with the school to encourage closer cooperation between parents, staff and students and raise awareness of issues and areas of concern concerning the general operations and management of the school.

The P&C Executive Committee
The current P&C Executive are:
President: Lisa Milne
Vice Presidents: Kylie Borellini and Ron McCall
Secretary: Helen Hughes
Treasurers: Melissa Pepper and Kim Porter

All the Executive Committee are parents of children at the school.

Our main activities over the past few years include:

• Organising the annual Fete
• Purchasing equipment for the school (air-conditioning, interactive white boards, classroom resources, shade covers)
• Obtaining grants for equipment in the school (playground equipment, oval upgrade, all purpose tennis courts)
• Running the Tuckshop
• Updating the school uniform
• Raising issues of concern with school administration
• Creating a parent resource library
• Parent representative on school committees e.g. School Wide Positive Behaviours, Triennial School Review Process.

We will read all your suggestions and address what issues we can, either through the P&C Newsletter or at the monthly meetings.

We are particularly interested in your ideas on where the P&C should be spending its money. Would your child benefit from additional resources, equipment or time in a certain area? Please let us know. We have recently agreed to spend approximately $14,000 on resources for all year levels within the school, including a water cooler, PE equipment, atlases, computer software, digital camera and books.

We would love to see you at our next meeting where we will address the issues raised. In addition, we will distribute another P&C Newsletter which will include a summary of these issues and further information on what the P&C is doing for the school.

P&C Meetings

The P&C meets on the third Thursday of each month, excluding school holidays, at 7.30pm in the Admin Building. Anyone interested is most welcome to attend. Our next meeting will be Thursday 18 June 2009.

The usual format of the meetings is to confirm the minutes from the previous meeting, run through correspondence, review the Treasurers Report for the P&C and the Tuckshop and receive the QCPCA (Qld Council of Parents and Citizens) Report when applicable. The Principal’s report covers school activities, staff movements, professional development and the school’s financial statements. We then run through General Business with each person present at the meeting having the opportunity to ask questions.
